Editor's note: The question of whether corporate boards of directors should contain a member with strong IT credentials was the subject of the October 2004 Cutter Business Technology Trends and Impacts Council Opinion [1]. Coincidentally, it was also the focus of a major article in InformationWeek [2]. The consensus reached in both pieces was that it is a good idea.
