Offshoring: Where We Are, Where We May Be Going

A survey conducted by Cutter Consortium in March 2004 confirms what many in the IT industry already assume to be true: offshore outsourcing (aka offshoring) is now a mainstream phenomenon. At the same time, the survey indicates that, until now, mainly innovators and early adopters have practiced offshoring. Outsourcing vendors and clients must realize that as offshoring begins moving firmly into the mainstream, resistance will heighten and problems will intensify.
