If we look at sourcing trends in Western companies, it's pretty clear that the back end of the systems development lifecycle is increasingly being outsourced to nearshore or offshore partners. Programming -- at least in terms of how we defined it in the 1990s -- has already been commoditized. Maintenance has been commoditized. Customization has been commoditized. What about other business-technology activities? What are the sourcing trends? What should the sourcing trends be?
