Reassessing Priorities
One of the many consequences of the September 11 terrorist attacks has been a reassessment of priorities and values. Many of us are still going through this on a personal basis -- I'm no longer interested, for example, in going to the movies to watch an "escapist" film, unless perhaps to get insights into potential new attacks from movies like Bruce Willis' Twelve Monkeys -- and it's clear that our political leaders are doing the same thing. Many corporations are, too, as they reevaluate the wisdom of globalization in a hostile world, and reassess the benefits of telecommuting and "virtual" meetings.
