Devices too Smart for Our Own Good
Recently, I talked with a good friend (who happens to be a CIO) about the effect of the Sobig virus and all its attendant grief. I was interested primarily in the effect the virus had on corporate data centers. Not surprisingly, the virus created a lot of problems: huge amounts of e-mail, penetration of a number of servers, and something I hadn't even thought about -- viruses, hiding in "intelligent" printers and scanners.
