Every once in a while, someone I respect gets something wrong -- I suppose that it just shows everyone is human. Michael Stonebraker is one of my longtime heroes. Not only is Stonebraker justly famous for his pioneering work at the University of California at Berkeley on Ingres, one of the earliest relational databases, he is the coauthor of one of my favorite books: Migrating Legacy Systems .
