Horst Treiblmaier is Professor and Head of the School of International Management at Modul University Vienna, Austria. He is also a member of Arthur D. Little's AMP open consulting network. Dr. Treiblmaier has more than 20 years’ experience as a researcher and consultant and is currently a Research Associate at UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies, University College London, UK, as well as Digital Euro Association (DEA) and DLT Education Consortium (DEC). Dr. Treiblmaier has served as a Visiting Professor at Purdue University; University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); University of British Columbia (UBC); University of Technology Sydney, Australia (UTS); and the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics, and Strategic Research (KIMEP). His research interests include the economic and business implications of blockchain, the Internet of Things, crypto economics, methodological and epistemological problems of social science research, and gamification.

Dr. Treiblmaier has worked on projects for organizations such as Microsoft, Google, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). He is coeditor of Blockchains and the Token Economy, coauthor of Business Transformation Through Blockchain, Volumes 1 & 2, and coauthor of the comprehensive study, "Why, Where and How Are Organizations Using Blockchain in Their Supply Chains? Motivations, Application Areas, and Contingency Factors," published in International Journal of Operations & Production Management. Dr. Treiblmaier has been published in Information Systems Journal, Structural Equation Modeling, The Data Base for Advances in Information Systems, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Information & Management, Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Global Information Management, Schmalenbach Business Review, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Logistics Management, and Wirtschaftsinformatik (Business and Information Systems Engineering). He is also the recipient of the 2022 Blockchain Frontier Award.​ Dr. Treiblmaier earned a PhD in management information systems from Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria.
