Michael J. Burleson is a Project Management Coach with Cutter Consortium's Agile Project Management practice. He is an information technology and project management professional with demonstrated abilities in business-focused solution development, fostering effective technical-business relationships, Agile/Adaptive project management methods, and process improvement. Much of Mr. Burleson's experience is in the area of large-scale data transformation (ETL) to create data mart/warehouse solutions, and ad-hoc data analysis for the retail and financial services industries. Mr. Burleson is committed to creating pragmatic solutions, encouraging collaborative environments and achieving transparency in process and progress.
Mr. Burleson possesses 16 years experience in computer technology application in the retail, non-profit and financial services industries; 10 years experience as a senior manager of technical teams; 6 years experience using Agile/Adaptive processes on technical and business projects; and four years mentoring companies through adoption and integration of agile/adaptive project management and work practices.
Currently, Mr. Burleson educates, coaches, and mentors companies in the adoption and application of Agile/Adaptive project management practices via instruction, implementation, mentorship, team coaching and project management outsourcing. From 1993-2001, Mr. Burleson was with Howard Schultz and Associates International, most recently serving as Director of Systems Development, where he was the senior manager responsible for corporate application development.
