Lynne Ellyn

Lynne Ellyn is a Fellow of the Cutter Business Technology Council and a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Business Technology Strategy practice. She recently served as the Senior VP and CIO at DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide, where she led an organization of approximately 800 people who provide IT strategy, development, and operations for all of the DTE Energy companies. Ms. Ellyn also served as corporate officer and member of DTE Energy’s Executive Committee as well as on the board of its charitable foundation. In addition, she is on the board of the Henry Ford Hospital Foundation and spearheaded the Women’s Initiative for the United Way at DTE Energy, focusing on early childhood literacy.

Ms. Ellyn has been consistently recognized as an exceptional business and IT leader. In 2002, Crain's Detroit Business named her as one of the "100 Most Influential Women Business Leaders" in the metropolitan Detroit area, while the Association for Women in Computing awarded her one of the "Top Michigan Women in Computing" in 2003. In 2004, CORP! named Ms. Ellyn one of Michigan’s "Top Business Women", while Computerworld named her a "Premier 100 IT Leader" in 2005. In 2007, Baseline named her one of the "Top 100 CIOs" in the country.

Ms. Ellyn worked her way through the IT industry, beginning as a programmer. She has held systems analyst, project leader, knowledge engineer, and systems architect positions. She combines a strong hands-on technical background with an equally strong knowledge of all aspects of business. She has successfully held leadership positions in five industries, including healthcare, automotive, high-tech, consulting, and energy. She is passionate about building high-performance teams and managing complex business requirements.
