David Loshin is a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Business Intelligence Practice and a contributor to that Advisory Service. He is the President and CTO of Knowledge Integrity, Inc., which provides software and consulting for discovering and managing information-oriented business rules.

Mr. Loshin is widely recognized as an expert in information quality, frequently contributes to Intelligent Enterprise, is a monthly columnist for datawarehouse.com, serves on the editorial board of DM Review, and has been writing a monthly column for DM Review since October 2002. He is the author of Enterprise Knowledge Management -- The Data Quality Approach and Business Intelligence: The Savvy Manager's Guide. In addition, he was invited to create and teach a graduate-level course on data quality at New York University and also has been asked to create a course on business-rule data validation for the Data Warehousing Institute.

Mr. Loshin is a veteran of the financial industry, having worked for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter (MSDW) for their IT division in options pricing and securities processing. At MSDW, he worked on automating the generation of code for creating options pricing objects, and later assisted in the accounts renovation project, creating inline data validation routines for preventing duplicate customer account creation. Prior to MSDW, Mr. Loshin was a senior compiler designer for Thinking Machines Corporation, a pioneer in massively parallel processing, where he focused on performance optimization, code optimization, and automatic parallelization. His previous books focus on scalable high-performance computing, both at the hardware level (High Performance Computing Demystified) and at the software level (Efficient Memory Programming).

Mr. Loshin's contributions to high-performance computing have been recognized by Sun and Compaq/HP, who have both contracted with Knowledge Integrity to provide consultation on improving the performance of their different compilers. He can be reached at consulting@cutter.com.
