Oliver Sims

Oliver Sims is a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Enterprise Architecture Practice. With over thirty-five years' experience in most areas of IT, Oliver Sims has earned international recognition in the Enterprise Architecture field, where he has focused on the architecture in SOA, Business/IT traceability, and Model-Driven Development.
Currently CTO of a UK-based enterprise software start-up, Oliver has worked in leading positions in both enterprise middleware and EA consulting companies. Previously, he held senior technical positions in IBM, working with some of IBM’s largest UK customers, as well as occupying national and international technical staff positions.
Oliver is a Fellow of the International Association of Software Architects, and was a founder member of the OMG Architecture Board. His OMG work included contributions to a number of standards including Components, MDA and UML2. As an author, he has several books (including co-authorship of Enterprise Service Oriented Architectures and Business Component Factory) as well as numerous articles to his credit. As a speaker, he has been presented keynotes at a number of international software conferences and events.
Among a wide range of interests in the IT field, one interest that has remained constant throughout his career has been in how application development can be made as simple and productive as possible. He can be reached at consulting@cutter.com.
