Oliver Sims

Oliver Sims was a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Business & Enterprise Architecture practice. Mr. Sims had more than 35 years' experience in many areas of IT, primarily in enterprise architecture. Mr. Sims has held leading positions in enterprise middleware and for EA consulting companies over the past 15 years. He served as the CTO of Agile Enterprise Ltd., a UK-based startup. Previously, he held a senior technical position with IBM, working with its largest UK customers as well as in international technical support.

Mr. Sims was one of the first to show the synergy between component-based software, XML-like interfaces, and distributed objects. In the 1990s, he was Chief Architect for a highly innovative component container middleware product that implemented these concepts. As a founding member of the OMG Architecture Board, Mr. Sims contributed to the development of MDA and UML2. He was a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has contributed to several books, including Enterprise Service Oriented Architectures and Business Component Factory, as well as numerous articles.
