Q: Does your organization create a repository of project lessons learned?

"One of the advantages of performing risk management is that an organization can gain valuable insights into what mistakes have been made on previous projects and thereby learn how to avoid them in the future. Creating so-called lessons learned is a commonly used approach for capturing this knowledge." As this figure indicates, over half of respondents in our 2006 risk management study say that they are capturing lessons learned. In 2002, only 36% of our respondents said their organizations were capturing lessons learned.

Cutter is currently conducting a survey to update this -- and many other -- data points on the risk management environment in 2013. Participate in our research, and you'll receive a copy of the full 2006 study as well as the preliminary results of the current research. Take the survey ...
