Q: Are your organization's Hadoop applications integrated with your BI/DW environments?

Because our survey showed that nearly two-thirds of Hadoop implementations are currently experimental or prototypes, it's not surprising that many organizations haven't yet integrated them into their BI/DW environments. But we're seeing a strong inclination to do so in the near future. According to Curt Hall, organizations "desire the ability to manage, correlate, and analyze unstructured information in conjunction with, and in relation to, the structured data maintained in the various relational databases they have been using for years to support their ERP, CRM, SCM, and other operational systems, as well as their BI/DW environments they've become so reliant on. For it is through the integration of Hadoop (and other Big Data technologies) with such enterprise systems in which organizations can connect the results from Big Data analyses to customer profiles, financial metrics, operational insights, and so forth, thus further enhancing and enriching the overall view and also providing a better picture of the customer, business, supply chain, or what have you."
