Q: Is your organization currently analyzing or planning to analyze data from social media sites to support its BI, CRM, marketing, and other data analysis and performance management efforts?

According to Curt Hall, the trend behind these results is that social media analysis is poised for growth over the next 12-16 months. He recommends that "end-user organizations should consider using, whenever applicable, cloud-based social media analysis services and/or industry/domain-specific applications and services. In addition to offering the usual benefits afforded by cloud/focused applications and services (usage-based licensing, reduced up-front implementation costs, etc.), such offerings typically feature prebuilt analytic models, dashboards and reports, and collaboration capabilities, which can help reduce organizational requirements for personnel trained in social media analysis and application development."
