Implementing Organizational Change for Agile Development
By now, agile methodologies have become established as a means of correcting a variety of ills within the software development environment. The next step is to move them to center stage within the enterprise. While pilot projects may have limited impact on the organization, implementation can create conflicts and require adjustments across a range of enterprise processes due to changes in management, evaluation of progress, and reporting. As we discuss in this Executive Report by Brian J. Dooley, these issues need to be understood in the context of organizational change, which has developed a body of best practices and rules over the past years in response to previous change efforts.
