Agile in Practice: A Composite Approach

by Bhuvan Unhelkar

This Executive Report by Bhuvan Unhelkar presents the Composite Agile Method and Strategy (CAMS) as an all-encompassing approach to the use of agile principles and practices across processes at various levels within the organization. CAMS involves such process elements as business management (e.g., Six Sigma), project management (e.g., Prince2), IT governance (e.g., COBIT, ITIL), and formal software processes (e.g., RUP, Process Mentor, OPEN). This report is based on exploratory interviews with 10 participants in varying consulting and permanent roles combined with the author's own experiences in using agile in practice.
