Presenter: Ken Orr, Senior Fellow, Cutter Consortium
Understanding, really understanding, the underlying business is the best investment an architect can make. No matter how good your business users are, architects need an understanding of how the organization works. Over time, systems architects bring a unique subject matter expertise to the problem -- architects and designers soon have a better understanding of how all the pieces of the business fit together. This has been true in the past in developing large individual applications; it will be even more true in the future because of the scope of enterprise architecture. Cutter Fellow Ken Orr discusses how the business processes represent the business dynamics of architecture.
