Real-World Business Process: Big vs. Little BP

by Ken Orr

I've been spending the last few months working on a very practical business process project with an organization that is serious about improving its business processes. To that end, we have been doing analysis using the approach that I developed some years ago and wrote about in a Cutter Business-IT Strategies Executive Report awhile back (see "Business Process Modeling Fundamentals," Vol. 10, No. 7). In setting up this project, we have been acquiring an automated business process tool to help us produce good-looking documentation that will be easy to update going forward.
