IT in a Hunt-Kill-Eat Economy

Because there is likely to be another half-year or year of Hunt, Kill, Eat in our future, we've addressed ourselves to the logical question of what the survivors ought to be doing in the interim. In lieu of a traditional opinion/response format, we've packaged this Council Opinion as a roundtable discussion of possible strategies. The question addressed to each Fellow is, "What should IT people do now to position themselves for the eventual recovery?" The obvious qualifier here is that whatever IT people do can't result in further loss of job security for them and their people or burden them with even more overwork. Here are their answers.
