Ali Arabnya

Ali Arabnya is Research Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Denver. He is an expert leader in energy infrastructure and climate finance and works at the interface of engineering, finance, and policy. Dr. Arabnya has over 15 years’ experience working with global financial institutions, management consulting firms, academia, energy companies, public sector organizations, and technology start-ups. Previously, he was Climate Economist Consultant with World Bank. He also served as Engagement Manager with the Risk & Capital practice of Protiviti, a global management consulting firm. Prior to that, Dr. Arabnya was with Electric Power Analytics Consortium. His client portfolio includes top-tier global banks, top US investment banks, federal financial and regulatory institutions, finance and energy ministries around the world, major Canadian and Swiss financial services firms, and several Fortune 500 energy companies. He is coauthor of two books and more than 30 peer-reviewed technical papers in flagship journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Arabnya is Guest Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems Special Issue on Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation. He is also a senior member of IEEE’s Power & Energy Society. Dr. Arabnya earned a bachelor of science degree from the Mazandaran University of Science and Technology, Iran; a master of science degree in industrial engineering from the Universiti Putra Malaysia; and a PhD in industrial engineering from the University of Houston.
