Enterprise Data Architecture
Leader: Ken Orr
It is no longer enough to build summary data marts in response to specific project requests. IT organizations are being called on to develop true enterprise data warehouses. In this workshop, Ken Orr presents a framework for industrial-grade data warehouses, the term he coined to describe the underlying changes in data warehousing in the 21st century. These industrial-grade data warehouses, or "detail data warehouses", support Online Enterprise Reporting (OLER). This seminar updates and upgrades Mr. Orr's "Enterprise Data Architecture" seminar that has been used in a great many environments worldwide.
In this course you will discover a state-of-the-art framework for data warehousing and how data warehousing fits into your overall IT systems architecture. You'll also learn the practical considerations of dealing with very large, atomic-level data warehouses and how to implement them in an incremental fashion. You'll learn practical means of balancing performance, flexibility, scalability, ease-of-use, data quality and auditablility through the use of a proven Enterprise Data Architecture (EDA) developed by Ken Orr and used throughout the world. As a result of taking this course, you will understand the absolute importance of data quality and what organizations are learning about data quality as the result of their data warehousing experiences.
Through this Enterprise Data Architecture workshop, Ken Orr will transfer critical knowledge to your organization:
