Q: Are IT budgets increasing or decreasing?
Over the past seven years of CBR's annual IT budget survey, we've seen significant swings in the numbers of respondents indicating increasing or decreasing IT budgets. This year we found increase and decrease in nearly equal measure, but different results when we divided the results of large and small companies. Only 7% of large companies are decreasing their IT budgets compared to 12% of small companies. On the opposite side of the spectrum, 32% of large companies are increasing their budgets, twice as much as smaller ones (16%). From this we can infer that company size has a significant impact on what happens with IT budgets.
