Q: Is it easier to find qualified information systems employees this year than last year?

In our 2010 CBR issue on IT trends, Mike Sisco discussed the challenges ahead in hiring qualified IT employees, and expected the trend to continue, fueled by baby boomer retirements and insufficient numbers of IT graduates to fill the gap. This year's survey confirmed his suspicion. "Hiring is clearly becoming more difficult. IT managers must work harder to keep their good employees as the ability to find qualified candidates becomes more difficult. Training and education is a key part of being able to do this. As such, investing in your people helps you keep them, in my opinion, and not position the employee to leave for greener pastures."
