Investment in mobile technologies continues to grow. Writes Katia Passerini, Associate Professor and Hurlburt Chair, Management Information Systems, New Jersey Institute of Technology, "the percentage of those companies that report spending between 10% and 30% of their IT budget in mobile technologies nearly doubled from last year. These numbers -- collected during the current economic downturn -- show that mobile technology investment (as a percentage of the IT entire spend) may continue to grow in a slower economy given the need to maximize efficiency and employee productivity; these technologies may in fact even be more urgent."
