Andreas Schotter

Dr. Andreas Schotter is a Cutter Consortium Fellow and Associate Professor of International Business and General Management and the CEMS Academic Director at the Ivey Business School, where he holds the F.W.P. Jones Faculty Fellowship. He is also a John H. Dunning Fellow at Henley Business School at the University of Reading in the UK. Before joining the faculty at Ivey, Andreas served on the faculty of the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona. Wall Street Journal has named him WSJ Distinguished Professor of the Year twice.

An international strategy and leadership expert, Andreas helps executives and organizations understand the challenges and opportunities posed by the rapidly evolving global economy. Andreas specializes in how to drive the agile decision-making that will prevail in today’s complex and turbulent world. His current focus includes the development of strategies for success in the era of exponential change, business system disruption, the internationalization strategies of digital firms, and the future of work. 
Before embarking on an academic career, Andreas was a senior executive with several multinational corporations across several industries including luxury consumer goods, automotive, and industrial machinery.

Andreas’ research appears in top management journals including MIT Sloan Management Review, Academy of Management JournalJournal of Management Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, and others. He has authored numerous book chapters, a book on management frameworks and more than 20 cases, several of them bestsellers. In addition to his scholarly work, Andreas works closely with multinational corporations and not-for-profit organizations from North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America on their global strategies and business model transformations. He is frequently called upon by national and international media to comment on strategy, leadership and intentional business issues.
