Francisco Javier Gómez Díaz Senior Consultant

Francisco Javier Gómez Díaz (Javier), Senior Consultant with Cutter's Business Technology Strategies practice, is the former CIO to Grupo Bimbo, where he was responsible for delivering IS services to Bimbo’s operations worldwide and led various efforts to assure projects related to IS met established objectives. Some of those projects included an Oracle ERP implementation, sales force automation through 32,000 handheld computers, business intelligence using data warehousing and analytical tools, customization of Oracle’s CRM to meet specific requirements for Bimbo’s direct delivery store business model, and outsourcing the IT services and operations, included contract negotiations and implementation. Javier held several positions during his 27-year career with Bimbo. Prior to becoming CIO, he was Logistics VP, responsible for the shipping and fleet maintenance and administration for Mexican operations, serving 16 factories, 300 depos, and 18,000 company-owned vehicles. Javier’s duties included process design, tracking KPIs, training (dispatchers and drivers), and government regulations compliance.

Javier has been acknowledged as the Latin American CIO of the Year by Oracle Magazine and Mexico’s CIO of the Year by InformationWeek. He was a member of Oracle’s CIO Advisory Board.

Javier holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Instituto Politecnico Nacional, and an MBA from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) as well as certificates from the Harvard Business School (Delivery Information Services program) and from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección (IPADE) the D1 Program (Business Administration) and the Innovation Program ( ADIT: Alta Dirección en Innovación Tecnológica).
