Introduction

I sense a sea change in the relationship between employers and employees in the software profession, and I believe that it will have a significant impact on all aspects of what we have come to call "peopleware." Perhaps I'm over-reacting, but I've seen indications of this change in dozens of organizations I've visited in the past year or so.
