THE EVOLUTION OF LAWFUL INTERCEPTION

Lawful interception (LI) is defined as obtaining telecommunications data for the purposes of analysis or evidence. The obtained data consists of signaling information, network management information, and the content of the communications themselves. The data is, generally, obtained through the interception of calls and data by law enforcement agencies (LEAs), regulatory or administrative agencies, and/or intelligence services, in accordance with local law.
