María Luisa Kun

María Luisa Kun possesses a deep knowledge of emerging trends and innovative technology solutions for supporting business strategy design, and for leveraging these solutions to achieve competitive differentiation for the enterprise. She has been successful in managing enterprise IT resources in for Argentine and international companies such as Bridas, Geosource Exploration, Bull, Credit Lyonnais, Banco Tornquist, and Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (was Gruppo BNL).

Previously, María Luisa Kun was Research Director at Gartner Group where she focused on strategies, processes and infrastructure for financial services and the public sector. She is the author of numerous reports on subjects ranging from enterprise architecture, payments systems, back- and front-office solutions, customer and citizen services, regional risk management issues, business value of IT, under-served population initiatives and open source penetration. While at Gartner she interacted with clients to provide advice on industry trends and innovation to define and refine business strategies, and to transform clients' internal and external processes and relationships with the strategic use of technology.

Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Kun served as e-Services Manager at Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (Gruppo BNL), a financial institution with more than 130 branches and universal banking services, to define the organization's e-business strategy, identify e-initiatives in the commercial and back-office areas, analyze the value-chain to evaluate and redefine value added for processes in different business lines, and define the implementation plan. Ms. Kun also provided technological and technical support needed to implement the business strategic plans on activities related to electronic channels, decisions on infrastructure and applications, as well as defined the IT architecture and resources to be used by the bank in its Internet and other electronic channels delivery.

Ms. Kun had previously served as IT Manager at Banca Nazioanle del Lavoro and also at Banco Tornquist and Credit Lyonnais. Earlier in her career she was a consultant to hardware, software and services company, Bull Argentina, where she supervised the team that developed the applications and middleware for the Banco Tornquist – Crédit Lyonnais Branch Automation Project; a consultant with Texas Instruments Argentina; a systems supervisor with Geosource Exploration Company; and a technical assistant to Bridas in the oil industry. Ms. Kun holds a Masters degree in Applied Physics from Université de Paris VI, Francia.
