Brian E. Mennecke was a Full Professor of Management Information Systems at Iowa State University. At the age of 56, he passed away unexpectedly in a boating accident. Dr. Mennecke’s research interests included collaboration and collaborative systems, the use of virtual worlds for collaboration and teaching, mobile and e-commerce, radio frequency ID (RFID), biometrics, spatial technologies and location-intelligence systems, and data visualization and support systems. He published a book on mobile commerce and multiple articles in various academic and practitioner journals, such as Management Information Systems Quarterly, Communications of the AIS, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Journal of Animal Science, Journal of Management Information Systems, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processing, and Small Group Research. He earned his PhD in Management information System from Indiana University.
