Alesandros Glaros

Alesandros Glaros is Postdoctoral Fellow at the Food and Agriculture Institute, University of the Fraser Valley, Canada. Dr. Glaros’s research considers the social, environmental, and political implications of emerging foods and food production technologies, such as cellular agriculture (lab-grown meat), entomophagy (consuming insects), controlled environment agriculture (vertical farming), and digital agriculture technologies. In partnership with Open Food Network Canada, he works alongside small-scale farmers and farmers’ market managers as they adopt or consider adopting digital technologies to help manage operations. Dr. Glaros earned a master of arts degree in geography and environmental management from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a PhD in geography from the University of Guelph, Canada.
