Exploring the Synergy Between Business Process Management and Personal Knowledge Management

Neither business process management (BPM) nor personal knowledge management (PKM) is new, but it is rare to link these two seemingly unrelated topics together. BPM and KM do, indeed, share the same goal, which is to improve the organization's performance. However, the primary purposes of a business process and a KM process are very different. A business process delivers a service or product, while a KM process serves to enable an organization to sustain the harnessing and sharing of knowledge and ultimately become a learning organization.
