Understanding the Linkages Between IT, Global Supply Chains, and the Environment

The IT revolution and the global environmental crisis represent two pivotal forces shaping the future of the global economy and our planet. When climate scientists refer to the unmistakable influence of human activities on global warming, what they are really talking about is the unmistakable carbon emissions from driving your car, using your computer to send e-mail, and using electricity to read your book at nighttime. Yet it is surprising that there is so little discussion on the important links between these two global phenomena.
