Benjamin Porter

Benjamin S. Porter is the Managing Director and Founding Member of Prometheus Endeavor, a think tank focusing on furthering endeavors of business and the institutions of society through information technology. Mr. Porter has been a Lecturer at the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, where he taught courses ranging from project and program management to IT, management of innovation, operations management, and data analytics. He was a founding faculty member of the Master of Science in Analytics and Data Science program, having taught in that program for six years. Mr. Porter has more than 40 years’ management consulting and business executive experience working with Fortune 500 companies worldwide across various industry sectors, including consumer goods, retail, petroleum, aerospace and defense, media, and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He has focused his work on the creation of business value through the development of business and technology strategies, implementation of world-class project and process capabilities, and development of managerial talent and has implemented project and program management capabilities for both his employers and his clients. Mr. Porter worked at Accenture, DMR Group, and Nolan, Norton & Co., where he reduced costs and improved process effectiveness for clients. He has conducted groundbreaking research in the area of IT value creation and has published and spoken widely. Mr. Porter’s research set a new standard for understanding the ways in which value is created by IT in business and how businesses can better align their IT investments with corporate strategy. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and a master of science degree in industrial administration from Purdue University.
