John K. Zao is Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department of Taiwan Chiao Tung University. He is founding chair of the IEEE Standard Working Group on Fog Computing and Networking Architecture Framework, the founding vice chair of the IEEE Standard Committee on Edge/Fog/Cloud Communications with IoT and Big Data, and cochair of the Security Working Group of the OpenFog Consortium. Before returning to Asia, Dr. Zao served as Senior/Principal Member of Technical Staff in the Information Security Department at BBN Technologies. While at BBN, he was the lead developer of the policy management framework of IP security protocols and a member of the US Army Task Force XXI Tactical Internet Gray-Beard Panel. He is the cofounder of various entrepreneurial ventures, including SecurKey Systems, Cerebra Technologies, and NGoggle, in neuromonitoring and neuromodulation using virtual reality and brain computer interactions.
