Khaled Emam

Khaled El Emam is Professor at the University of Ottawa, Canada, Faculty of Medicine, where he previously held the position of Canada Research Chair in Electronic Health Information. He is also founder, President, and CEO of Privacy Analytics Inc. As an entrepreneur, Dr. El Emam has founded or cofounded five companies involved with data management and data analytics over the last two decades. He has worked in technical and management positions in academic and business settings in the UK, Scotland, Germany, Japan, and Canada. In 2003–2004, Dr. El Emam earned the ranking of top systems and software engineering scholar worldwide by Journal of Systems and Software, based on his research on measurement and quality evaluation and improvement. Previously, he was Senior Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada and served as head of the Quantitative Methods Group at the Fraunhofer Institute in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
