Masha Sand brings her unique cross-functional experience in digital strategy, product management, operations leadership, and business analytics to her consulting engagements. Ms. Sand is an innovative thinker with deep expertise in building and executing technology-driven solutions grounded in customer insights and data.
In her most recent role, as Assistant VP and Senior Director at Liberty Mutual, Ms. Sand led the company's first cross-functional Agile teams to build a design-centered, MVP-driven digital auto insurance sales experience grounded in analytical insights, while modernizing underlying technology. She built and directly managed a team of product managers and defined a multiyear roadmap for the portfolio of related products across Web and mobile channels. This new customer experience resulted in a 40% increase in conversion and served as a model for the broader organizational digital transformation. Ms. Sand then served as a leader within the Digital Transformation Office — influencing, coaching, strategizing, and executing on the broader efforts aimed at building customer-centric products using modern, upgraded technologies and data-driven test and learn approaches. In this role, she built an integrated digital transformation roadmap across the product management, design and UX, and technology and change management domains. Ms. Sand inspired and coached new Agile leaders and executives across the enterprise on the benefits of an iterative test-and-learn analytical approach to product development as well as the shift to a design-centered mindset.
Prior to her role in the Digital Transformation Office, Ms. Sand served in other positions with Liberty Mutual. As Senior Director of Operations, leading a geographically distributed team of more than 130 operations-support specialists, she revamped the traditional QA program and rebuilt a compliance function leveraging analytics and technology. While serving as Director of Payments Strategy, Ms. Sand led a team to deliver transformational payments projects based on in-depth analysis of emerging technology trends, competitive innovative approaches, and customer needs. She championed projects through the entire lifecycle: from ideation and socialization to budgeting and execution governance, while ensuring that end-customer needs were met. Ms. Sand transformed the analytics culture within the department to focus on insights-driven analysis and away from standard reporting. Previously, she was Head of Alternative Channels, Cards Division (US) at Banco Santander/Sovereign Bank and Business Director, US Consumer Card, Online Marketing at Capital One.
