Philip Wisoff

Phil Wisoff is a Cutter Expert and a member of Arthur D. Little's AMP open consulting network. With more than 25 years' experience as a senior IT executive in professional services firms and corporations, Mr. Wisoff's experience and skills enable him to bridge the gap between business management and IT professionals. He has helped numerous enterprises and NGOs/IGOs make the best use of technology, control costs, and manage risks. As a Cutter Expert, he has consulted for and advised executives at Fortune 500 firms, IGOs/NGOs, and government institutions.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wisoff has developed and executed technology strategies that align technology with business objectives, improve personnel productivity, increase collaboration, streamline systems, enhance agility, and control costs. Among his accomplishments, he successfully created multiple three-year technology plans that gained management approval, and tracked those plans against objectives and budgets. He transformed IT organizations to be highly customer service-oriented and effective at managing firm technology. He successfully designed and implemented new IT organizational structures and processes in multiple business environments to improve service, reduce technology issues, and control costs.

Mr. Wisoff’s skills and experience extend beyond traditional IT areas. In the business process re-engineering area, he worked with different business units to map and streamline their business processes. This work required Mr. Wisoff to work extensively with business department and C-Suite executives to understand their business drivers, establish plans, and execute on requirements. He has worked extensively in areas such as business continuity and business process re-engineering. For seven years he co-chaired the business continuity planning (BCP) committee for a large firm and was directly involved in establishing and testing the firm’s BCP, including for its offices located in areas particularly vulnerable to natural disasters, as well as those in cities at higher risk of terrorist attacks.

Some of Mr. Wisoff's achievements include: developing and coaching IT personnel to become more effective; managing large complex, multi-faceted technology projects, such as data center re-locations, business reporting systems, and data warehouses; designing and implementing firm-wide data/systems architecture to facilitate better integration of applications and easier access to information and data; reducing spending through formal vendor negotiations programs; directing information security programs; managing non-IT functions including knowledge management, records and conflicts, library, and litigation support; and, designing and implementing firm-wide IT disaster recovery plans and infrastructures.

In addition to his role as a Cutter Expert, Mr. Wisoff is Principle at MTC Services, Inc. Previously he served as Chief Information Officer at Proskauer Rose LLP for seven years. Prior to that, he held a variety of senior positions in organizations spanning a multitude of industries from legal to consulting, insurance, pharma, and technology. He held the role of Director at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP; VP of Internet Solutions at startup EYT; Director at Ernst & Young; VP at American International Group; and Director at Squibb Corp. He began his career as a member of the Bell Laboratories technical staff.
