Doug McDavid

Doug McDavid is an experienced and innovative enterprise architect who provides consulting, mentoring, and coaching services for business owners and executives as well as enterprise and business architects. Mr. McDavid's background brings along an underpinning in systems science and systems thinking, systems analysis, process modeling, data administration, data modeling, and process modeling. He has experience in RDBMS, graph DBMS, object technology, service-oriented architecture, and business process management.

Mr. McDavid worked for IBM for 15 years, where he documented EA methods and provided services for many clients in various industries, including software, consulting, insurance, government (local, state, and federal; taxation, military, and prisons), supply chain, secondary and higher education, and manufacturing (aerospace, high tech, consumer electronics). Mr. McDavid helped IBM Research establish the field of service science, management, and engineering. He has been published widely, including two articles in IBM Systems Journal. Mr. McDavid holds several patents as co-inventor of, among others, an integration of role-nets, process-nets, resource-nets, and capability-nets; a billing scheme for damage to one organization’s application of technology by another; and a history-based information search-and-retrieval scheme.
