Philip O'Reilly

Philip O’Reilly is a Cutter Expert and Professor of Financial Technologies and Information Systems at Cork University Business School, University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. He is the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)–approved Principal Investigator of FINTECHNEXT, a multiyear, multimillion Euro research collaboration between UCC and Fexco. Dr. O'Reilly is also Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales Business School, whose Information Systems & Technology Management group ranks fourth in the world by the Association for Information Systems (AIS) for publications in the top eight journals in the IS field. His research focuses on the transformative power of emerging IS on financial services. Dr. O'Reilly's work has been published in leading journals, including European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, and Information Technology and People, and his work has been presented at the leading IS conferences. In 2011, Dr. O'Reilly received the Stafford Beer Medal in recognition of the most outstanding contribution to the philosophy, theory, and practice of IS from the Operational Research Society.
