Hermann Schlamann has a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Technical University Aachen (Germany). He began his career in 1971 as a programmer of technical engineering applications. Mr. Schlamann then worked as a systems programmer with a computer manufacturer before joining Unisys as a consultant in data communications. With the rise of information engineering in the mid-1980s, he became a freelancer, and for 10 years he supported various enterprises in such industries as health insurance, power supply, and banking.

Mr. Schlamann has deep knowledge about software development processes and methodology. Since the mid-1990s, he has worked as a consultant in Switzerland and is currently a senior architect in the integration architecture group at Credit Suisse, a major Swiss bank.
