Lanse E. LaVoy is the Director of Information Protection and Security at DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide, where he leads an organization that provides information security, risk, and compliance services to the enterprise. He has worked in a variety of IT roles, including security, developer, systems analyst, project manager, and solution engineering manager across many industries. Mr. LaVoy is passionate about both software engineering and security and sees multiple opportunities to merge the two disciplines. He is also a member of the US Air National Guard with 23 years' service time, the majority of which has been spent in various IT roles.
