Moriba Jah

Moriba K. Jah is cofounder and Chief Scientist at Privateer Space, where he leads the organization’s technical vision. Dr. Jah is a renowned space environmentalist and astro-dynamicist specializing in space object detection, tracking, identification, and characterization, as well as spacecraft navigation. He is Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin and the recipient of the Mrs. Pearlie Dashiell Henderson Centennial Fellowship in Engineering. Dr. Jah also cofounded Moriba Jah Universal to create media, art, and entertainment across myriad platforms, with the goal of bringing space environmentalism into the mainstream to raise awareness about the often-overlooked threat of space debris to humanity. He is a Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a MacArthur “Genius” Grant Fellow, a TED Fellow, and a National Geographic Explorer.
