Thomas Unger

Thomas Unger is Associate Director of Arthur D. Little (ADL)'s US Healthcare & Life Sciences practice. Dr. Unger specializes in complex problem solving in the biopharmaceutical, medtech, and healthcare sectors. He has extensive experience leading programs and teams as they envision and successfully develop innovative digital- and technology-enabled solutions for strategic, operational, and transformational products and services. Dr. Unger has created several cross-industry and cross-stakeholder partnerships, bringing together disparate data and analytics to resolve key healthcare industry challenges. He helped initiate the NEWDIGS program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Biomedical Innovation and is an advisor to Massachusetts General Hospital's Center for Assessment Technology and Continuous Health. Dr. Unger serves as a scientific advisor to an early-stage company applying machine learning/artificial intelligence to large data sets and advanced analytics in pharma/biotech manufacturing. He has previously held several senior roles in pharma and medtech companies, including a number of years at Pfizer. Dr. Unger earned an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and a PhD in biological chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.
