Walter Bodwell is a Cutter Expert and a member of Arthur D. Little's AMP open consulting network. He has deep experience in Agile management, including rolling agility out in both small and large organizations. In 2008, Mr. Bodwell founded Planigle to help organizations in their quest for agility. Recently, he has been assisting a startup in getting it off the ground and establishing its development practices and working with a government agency team to bring in Agile practices and use them in the first release of their software.

Mr. Bodwell began his career as a software developer. He has always strived to improve his skills in creating maintainable software that maximizes value for the business. Mr. Bodwell has done development in many languages, including Java, Ruby, Python, and others. He first used Scrum in 1999 when he was VP of Engineering at a startup where a focus on value resulted in the company's acquisition. After the company was acquired by a large systems management company, Mr. Bodwell's scope increased, growing to the point where he was directing a group of approximately 150 engineers. His experience there in helping others to become better at agility led him to start Planigle. Mr. Bodwell has since balanced his time between doing Agile and coaching and training others. He is a regular speaker at industry events, including Keep Austin Agile and Agile Austin. Mr. Bodwell holds a BS in computer science from the University of Texas. He can reached at experts@cutter.com.
