Robin Goldsmith

Robin F. Goldsmith works with, trains, and coaches business and project professionals to get the right results right through business analysis/requirements, Proactive Software Quality Assurance (SQA)™, Proactive Testing™, Beyond the Textbook™ software acquisition, project management, process improvement, metrics, and REAL ROI™. Previously, he was a developer, systems programmer/database administrator/QA analyst, and project leader with the US City of Cleveland, Ohio, and leading financial institutions, and he was Supervisor of Management Consulting for a Big 4 international accounting and consulting firm. Mr. Goldmsith is author of Discovering REAL Business Requirements for Software Project Success, the forthcoming Cut Creep — Write Right Agile User Stories and Acceptance Tests, public and in-house training, numerous articles, EuroStarHuddle’s Unconventional Wisdom blog, and is a frequent featured speaker at leading professional conferences. He was also International VP of the Association for Systems Management (ASM), Executive Editor of Journal of Systems Management, founding Chairman of the New England Center for Organizational Effectiveness, and President of the Software Quality Group of New England (SQGNE), where he is currently VP.

Mr. Goldsmith has served in virtually all American Society for Quality (ASQ) Boston Section leadership positions and has chaired ASQ’s BOSCON 2000 and 2001 annual quality conferences. He was a member of the working groups that revised IEEE’s Standard for Software Test Documentation (829-2008) and Software Quality Assurance (830-2014) and is currently revising IEEE’s Standard for Software Engineering — Recommended Practice for Software Acquisition (P41062). Mr. Goldsmith is a member of the advisory board for the International Institute for Software Testing (IIST) and a requirements and QA/testing subject expert for TechTarget’s SearchSoftwareQuality online community. He has also served as an International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK Guide, v2) reviewer and subject expert. Mr. Goldsmith earned a bachelor of art’s degree with honors in psychology from Kenyon College, a master’s of science degree in psychology from Pennsylvania State University, a juris doctor (JD) degree from Suffolk University, and a master’s of law degree (LLM) in tax law from Boston University.
